Abu Sa‘īd and Abu Hurayrah may Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No fatigue, disease, sorrow, sadness, harm, or distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were a prick of a thorn, but Allah will expiate some of his sins thereby."
Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person falls ill or travels, he shall be credited with whatever good deeds he used to perform while at home and in good health."
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with them said to ‘Atā’ ibn Abi Rabāh: “Shall I show you a woman of the people of Paradise?” ‘Atā’ said: 'Yes.' He said: "This black woman came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and said: ‘I suffer from epilepsy and, as a result, my body becomes uncovered. So please supplicate to Allah for me.’ The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: ‘If you wish, be patient and you will enter Paradise; or, if you wish, I will supplicate to Allah to cure you.' She said: ‘I will remain patient.’ She then said: ‘But I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah that I do not become uncovered.’ So he supplicated for her."
‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that when the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) visited some of his family members who were sick, he would pass his right hand over them and say: "O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the affliction. Cure, for You are the one who cures; there is no cure but Yours, a cure that leaves behind no trace of sickness."
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A Jewish boy used to serve the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he fell sick. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit him. He sat by his head and said to him: "Embrace Islam." The boy looked at his father who was with him and who then said: "Obey Abu al-Qāsim." So, he embraced Islam. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came out saying: "All praise is due to Allah who saved him from the Fire."
Thawbān (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a Muslim visits his sick fellow Muslim, he will remain in the Khurfah of Paradise tills he leaves returns." It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what the Khurfah of Paradise." He said: "Its fruit garden."
‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: ''Whoever visits a sick person whose time of death has not come and says, seven times: ‘I ask Allah the Great, the Lord of the Great Throne, to cure you’, except that Allah will cure him from that sickness."
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so he may do more good; or he is an evildoer, so he may give up evil deeds."
In a narration, Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should wish for death, nor ask for it before it comes to him; for when any of you dies, his deeds stop, and the believer's life span only adds good to him."
