Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered the privy, a servant and I used to carry a waterskin and a pointed staff, and he would cleanse himself with water.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he was in the company of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) once, carrying a pot of water for his ablution and cleansing purposes. While he was following him and carrying it, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who is this?" He said: "I am Abu Hurayrah." The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring me stones so that I may cleanse (my private parts) therewith, but do not bring any bones or animal dung." Abu Hurayrah went on narrating: "So I brought some stones, carrying them in the corner of my garment, until I put them by his side and went away." When he finished, I walked (with him) and asked: "What is wrong with bones and animal dung?" He said: "They are from the food of the Jinn. A delegation of Jinn from (the city of) Nasībayn came to me —and how good those Jinn were — and asked me for victuals. I invoked Allah for them that they would never pass by a bone or animal dung but that they would find food on them."
Abu Qatādah al-Ansāri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one of you should hold his penis with his right hand while urinating, or clean himself after answering the call of nature using his right hand, or breathe into the vessel."
Abu Ja‘far ‘Abdullāh ibn Ja‘far (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) made me ride behind him one day and confided something to me which I shall never disclose to anyone. What the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) liked most to screen himself from others while answering the call of nature was an elevation or a date-palm orchard. Once he entered an orchard belonging to an Ansāri man and found a camel therein. When it saw him, it began to groan and its eyes shed tears. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) approached it and patted it on the hump and behind its ears until it calmed down. Then, he asked: "Who is the owner of this camel? To whom does it belong?" An Ansāri youth stepped forward and said: "It is mine, O Messenger of Allah," He said: "Do you not fear Allah regarding this animal which Allah has placed in your possession? It is complaining to me that you starve it and put it to toil."
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Beware of the two things that provoke cursing.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, what are those two things which provoke cursing?” He said: “The one who relieves himself on people’s roads or under their shades.”
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one of you should urinate in stagnant water then take a ritual bath with it."
Another narration reads: "No one of you should take a ritual bath in stagnant water while being in the state of major ritual impurity."
‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I used to experience frequent discharge of pre-ejaculatory fluid and I was too shy to ask the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about it given the fact that his daughter was my wife. So I asked Al-Miqdād ibn al-Aswad to ask him about it. Thereupon, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Let him wash his penis and perform ablution (after it)."
According to Al-Bukhāri's narration of the Hadīth: "Wash your penis and perform ablution."
According to Muslim: "Perform ablution and sprinkle water over your penis."
Abu Ayyūb al-Ansāri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you go to a place to relieve yourselves, do not turn your face or back toward the Qiblah while defecating or urinating, but face east or west.'' Abu Ayyūb said: ''When we arrived in Syria, we found privies built facing the Ka‘bah. So, we would turn away from it and ask Allah, the Exalted, for forgiveness.''
