Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A Muslim person must listen and obey concerning what he likes and hates, unless he is ordered to commit a sin. If he is ordered to commit a sin, then he should neither listen nor obey.”
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever obeys me has obeyed Allah, and whoever disobeys me has disobeyed Allah; and whoever obeys the leader has obeyed me, and whoever disobeys the leader has disobeyed me."
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: "All of you are shepherds and every one of you is responsible for his herd. A leader is a shepherd, a man is the shepherd over his family and a woman is the shepherd over her husband’s house and his children. So all of you are shepherds, and every one of you is responsible for his herd."
In another wording: ''All of you are shepherds and every one of you is responsible for his herd. A leader is a shepherd and is responsible for his herd. A man is the shepherd over his family and is responsible for his herd. A woman is the shepherd over the house of her husband and is responsible for her herd. A servant is the shepherd over the wealth of his master and is responsible for his herd. So all of you are shepherds, and every one of you is responsible for his herd.''
Ma‘qil ibn Yasār (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no one whom Allah has put in a position of authority and he dies on the day he dies cheating those under his authority, but Allah will forbid Paradise for him."
Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "'There will be selfishness and other matters that you will disapprove of after me." They asked: "What do you order us to do then, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Fulfill your duty and ask Allah for your rights."
Az-Zubayr ibn ‘Adiyy reported: We went to Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) and complained to him about the oppression we were suffering at the hands of Al-Hajjāj. So, Anas said: "Be patient, for no time will come but will be followed by a worse one until you meet your Lord. I heard it from your Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)."
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever gives up obedience and separates from the Muslim community and then dies has died a death like that of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance. Whoever fights under the banner of a blind, unguided cause, getting flared up for his people's pride, calling to fight for the sake of his people's pride or in support of his people's pride or personal inclination, and, therefore, is killed, his killing is like that of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance. Whoever breaks his allegiance to my Ummah, killing the righteous and the wicked of them, paying no heed to the believers among them, and not fulfilling a covenant with those with whom he has made covenants, he does not belong to me and I do not belong to him."
